I understand that I am voluntarily registering my Storm Shelter / Safe Room with the South Van Zandt Volunteer Fire Department and Vicki McAlister, the Van Zandt County Emergency Management Coordinator.

I understand that my information will be maintained by the Van Zandt County Emergency Management office and distributed to the local Fire Department responsible for providing coverage for my property in Van Zandt County, Texas.

I understand that my information will only be distributed to the local Fire Department responsible for providing coverage for my property and any Fire Department providing mutual aid to my local Fire Department. I understand that my information will not be shared with individuals, companies or non-emergency agencies.

I understand that in the event of structural damage from a tornado, severe weather, or other related incidents, the fire department and/or emergency crews will use the information provided to check Storm Shelters / Safe Rooms as they are checking properties.

I understand that my Storm Shelter / Safe Room will be checked as quickly as manpower is available to perform such search and rescue. I further understand that it may be several hours, depending on the size of the emergency, before I can be rescued from my Storm Shelter / Safe Room.

I understand that I need to keep my Storm Shelter / Safe Room structurally sound, clean from trash and debris, and stocked with survival supplies and that there is a suggestion list of survival supplies available on this page.


I understand that by submitting this form, with my initials as my signature, I release the Van Zandt County Emergency Management Office / Coordinator, the South Van Zandt Volunteer Fire Department, StrategicWebs, Inc., and Ron Beaver from any and all event(s) associated with registering my Storm Shelter / Safe Room.
